“The Harrowing and Painful Rescue of a Dog Trapped in a Plastic Jar for Hours.”

November 2, 2023 by Cong Danh

Dogs living on the streets must resort to some very extreme ways to survive. They consume trash and drink from puddles, gutters, and whatever sources they can locate. They are frequently filthy, chilly, and afraid.

When a dog is ill or has another impairment, such as this Labrador who suffered for three weeks after sticking his head in a plastic jar, the difficulty is increased.

When he came upon the large jar, perhaps while hunting for something to eat, he may have been able to get his head inside but unable to get it out.

So he stayed like that for three weeks until a rescuer named Greg managed to catch him.

He was saved by a man who propped his knee on top of the dog to keep him quiet while he cut through the jar’s side, but despite his efforts, the jar remained trapped.

“I’m attempting to make a little slit to allow some air in. It has to be taken and loaded onto my truck’s bed.

Off-camera, a lady uttered:

I’m OK, baby! It’s alright. You’re covered, honey! Take him to the vet, please. I’ll aid in your pick-up.”

The fact that he had lasted for so long without access to food and water astounded those who discovered him. They assumed he must have obtained water by visiting a neighboring lake and consuming what he could with the flask.

He was taken urgently to the veterinarian, where the jar was eventually taken out and he received care. He was referred to as “Cheeto.”
