It seems the entire world is conspiring to make Cristiano Ronaldo the most-subscribed YouTuber. MrBeast. who currently holds this record, took more than 100 days to secure 10 million subs. Ronaldo surpassed that count in just 12 hours after he launched his channel UR Cristiano. While fans are rushing from all sides to fuel the Portuguese star’s YouTube growth, not everyone seems to excited about Ronaldo’s content on YouTube. ESPN analyst Gabriel Marcotti is one among them. He dismissed the Al Nassr captain’s record-breaking content venture, saying he has yet to check out UR. Cristiano.
Marcotti’s fellow host Julien Laurens asked him if Cristiano Ronaldo would become the next MrBeast on YouTube, during a recent ESPN FC episode. “MrBeast creates content. Cristiano obviously creates content too by playing and stuff,” said Marcotti. Thereafter, the renowned journalist sounded skeptical about fans really wanting to watch Ronaldo’s YouTube activity.“Although is this the content that people want to watch,” Marcotti added. Continuing, the ESPN journalist stated he’s yet to watch Ronaldo’s videos on the platform, echoing his skepticism about the Portuguese star’s content.
Meanwhile, fellow host Julien Laurens tried to familiarize Marcotti with the type of content Ronaldo has been posting on the video-sharing platform lately. He said Ronaldo and his partner Georgina Rodriguez played a game in a video, where the latter had to guess the Al Nassr star’s favorite color. As it happened, Georgina wrongly guessed CR7’s favorite color, saying it was red or green when the 5x Ballon d’Or winner actually loves white more than any color. Marcotti laughed off at this episode, wondering how someone would choose white as their favorite color.
Indeed, the 39-year-old’s otherwise blockbuster YouTube venture provided the ESPN analysts with the fodder for laughter. But Ronaldo, unlike what Marcotti hinted, has been coming up with exclusive content. And there’s a growing fanbase for that too.
What does Cristiano Ronaldo post on YouTube? How many views has he garnered so far?
As of now, Cristiano Ronaldo has posted 20 videos on his channel, UR Cristiano. Each one of these has been viewed by millions. Even the least-viewed video has 4.6 million views. Indeed, we’re now seeing netizens prove Gabriel Marcotti wrong. Altogether, the 39-year-old boasts a staggering 177,007,767 views from 39.7 million subscribers. Notably, CR7 amassed these numbers in just three days of launching his YouTube channel. Soon enough, the streets would speak about any YouTuber becoming the next Ronaldo instead of the next Mr.Beast.
Besides posting content with Georgina Rodriguez, the Al Nassr captain also lays bare his personal biases and choices in his channel. He has rated his own iconic goals in certain videos. In certain other clips, we could see the 39-year-old shed light on the ace mentality that has been powering him over the years. Besides, the 5x Ballon d’Or winner also chose the NBA over the NFL in a famous video. Showing his NBA affinity further, the 5x UCL winner chose the Bulls legend Michael Jordan over Stephen Curry.
So, at this juncture, the world must be asking, who would miss on such exciting content that comes from an entity of Ronaldo’s stature. However, the key is to remain consistent for CR7, if he were to eclipse Mr-Beast on total subscriber count. Let’s see how things go for the Portuguese legend and his YouTube brainchild.
