We received a video from a passerby, capturing the distressing condition of a severely injured cat along with its location. The cat had one front leg injured and appeared to be struggling to breathe. Its dirty fur and distressed face evoked sympathy.
Despite the distant location shown in the video, we decided to drive over 70 kilometers to reach the spot. A kind passerby had placed the cat in a warm box and waited for us. I assured them that we would take good care of the cat and promptly bring it to a veterinary clinic.
The cat seemed relieved to see us, although it could do nothing more than open its eyes wide and cry out for help. It behaved well and remained quiet during the journey, perhaps sensing that we were trying to assist.
Upon arriving at the clinic, the cat fell into a deep sleep due to exhaustion. We stroked it gently and allowed the veterinarian to examine it. The situation was worse than anything we could have imagined. The cat’s entire body was contracted and stiff, and it also suffered from a poorly healed front leg, resulting in muscle atrophy. X-ray results revealed that the leg bone had been crushed, indicating a severe prior accident.
Hearing this news, my heart sank, feeling the cruelty and malice behind such actions. We were deeply appalled and angered by the act of inflicting harm upon a defenseless, innocent cat and then abandoning it in such a state.
The journey to treat the cat will be challenging and require significant time and financial resources. Currently, the cat is being kept at the hospital for intensive treatment, and we will continue to provide updates on its progress through subsequent videos.
We hope that the best outcome awaits the cat, as it deserves a happier and more fulfilling life.
