Before being taken by illness, this untamed feline had the precious opportunity to experience the warmth and tenderness of a loving home.

After 14 months of successfully gaining the trust of Blondi, a feral cat, her owner was able to offer her the comfort of a loving home. Unfortunately, the feline was ill and died some time later. He will have had a very good end of life.

Wild animals are often afraid of people and very suspicious. But with a little patience, some can be tamed. This is the case of Blondi , an orange and white cat, who lived under truck equipment, until she crossed paths with a kind woman.

14 months to build a relationship of trust

While walking behind a department store, a woman spotted a wild cat, well hidden under truck parts. She gave him some food, but the feline was very fearful.

Day after day, the woman returned to see the animal for which she had fallen in love. She didn’t know if he ate what she brought him, but continued to provide him with food. As the months passed, the woman did not lose courage. One fine day, his determination paid off: the cat waited patiently for him to get her food. She kept her distance, but had come very close.

The relationship was thus established little by little, until Blondi allowed herself to be caressed. She discovered that it was pleasant, and even rubbed against her mistress’s leg.

Blondi discovered the happiness of living in a loving home

After more than a year, the woman decided it was time for Blondi to live in their home, where she would be much safer. His mistress first took him to the vet, hoping that the cat would not get scared. The consultation went well, but unfortunately, an incurable and fatal disease was diagnosed: feline infectious peritonitis.

Despite his illness, Blondi ‘s owner decided to take him home. She thus offered the cat the most beautiful months of her life. Blondi was able to snuggle up next to a fireplace, and share sweet moments with her mom, but also with other furry friends.

Some time later, Blondi died of her infectious peritonitis. But as LoveMeow says , before dying, “ the cat knew love and a forever home, which he shared with a large family . ”
