With immense compassion, a young mother cat diligently cares for a ailing kitten, restoring his zest for life and nurturing him back to health.

Bowie, an abandoned kitten, arrived at a shelter shortly after Dottie, a mother taken in with her 5 little ones. While Bowie’s health was poor, a solution was attempted to get him back on the right path and allow him to regain his strength.

First it was Dottie , a cat with a white coat and a spotted face, who arrived at Shelbi Uyehara ‘s home on. Jin’s Bottle Babies , located in Arizona (United States). Not very comfortable with humans, she took time to get her bearings and to trust the volunteers. Arriving with her tribe of 5 kittens, she still seemed at ease helping her whole little world grow up, away from the dangers of the street.

A little after Dottie , a little ginger cat arrived in the home. Also rescued from the street, this very young kitten was orphaned. Starving, the cat’s condition worried the members of the household who rushed to find a solution to help the feline. Found in a dumpster , the kitten came close to death and could have suffered serious after-effects from this traumatic start to life. Love Meow shared the story of these 2 joint stories.

Bowie: a kitten in great danger

Upon his arrival at Shelbi ‘s home , Bowie , this little ginger kitten, was taken care of and bottle-fed. Without a mother to raise him and meet his most basic needs, it was necessary to feed and pamper him, more than any other kitten. Having a significant delay in growth, the cat was unable to open its eyes and remained prostrate.

To help the kitten, a proposal was made: entrust Bowie to a mother cat. Volunteers quickly found the ideal cat in Dottie , the young mother of 5 kittens.

“She immediately became attached to him”

It was with a little trepidation that the volunteers entrusted Bowie to the cat. Like any other interaction, it was hard to imagine what this was going to be like. To the great joy of Shelbi and her associates, Dottie was very concerned and immediately welcomed Bowie into her little tribe. Shelbi testified: “She immediately became attached to him. She treats him as if he were her baby, who arrived a little later. Bowie was always glued to her. He wanted a mother . ”

Thanks to Dottie ‘s love , Bowie was able to quickly get back on track. He integrated into the family, without jealousy or competition, and grew at his own pace, which allowed him to return to a normal weight.

Before being put up for adoption, Bowie was able to take full advantage of the kindness of his adoptive mother. Dottie , decisive in the kitten’s life story, will have contributed to its development, both physical and psychological.
