English actor Joe Alwyn made his appearance on the Academy Awards red carpet — showing up in a calm and collected look.
He kept it classic in a dashing black suit. However, to add a bit of flair, he opted for a deep blue lapel with a red and yellow brooch pinned. To further accessorize, he wore a shining watch with ruby detailing and a ring on his pointer finger. In a classy completion of the look, Joe tied it all together with a distinct bowtie and gleaming smile to the cameras.
Despite hatred from fans, mainly from that of Swifties, Joe showed up with pride to represent his latest project, The Brutalist. The film was nominated for 10 Academy Awards this year, including Best Picture, Best Directing, Best Film Editing, Best Music (Original Score), Best Production Design, and Best Writing (Original Screenplay).

After his startling split from Grammy-winning pop star Taylor Swift, fans online turned hostile toward Joe, often dissing his career. In fact, that sort of hate continued to spread online as he walked the carpet. A fan wrote: “the jobless rate increased all of sudden at the Oscar’s.”

Leading up to the award show, a fan slammed him on X, formerly known as Twitter, writing: “Joe alwyn has been out of a job for a long a– time, he’s had two roles in like a decade. bro is not good at what he does and has zero work ethic idk, if y’all want us to stop dragging him stop giving him unearned praise.”
The jokes took a even more toxic turn when they began to compare his outfit to that of a “waiter” that might be seen at the major Hollywood event. After all, plenty were quick to critique his “boring” black suit, insisting men need to step up their fashion game for these major nights. Another fan wrote: “i didnt know they letting the waiters on the red carpet as well.”
