The view was given by Mr. Putin at a press conference after the parade in Beijing.
At a press conference in Beijing after the September 3 military parade, Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his opinion on Mr. Trump’s statement regarding a “conspiracy” against the United States.
“The US president does not lack a sense of humor,” President Putin commented.
The Russian leader said that he and Mr. Trump have built a “good relationship,” and affirmed that no leader attending the summit in China gave a negative assessment of the current US administration.
Earlier, when the leaders of China, Russia and North Korea met in China to attend a military parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the victory over fascism, Mr. Donald Trump posted a status on Truth Social:
“Wishing President Xi and the Chinese people a wonderful and long-lasting celebration. My warmest greetings to Mr. Vladimir Putin and Mr. Kim Jong Un, as you plot together against the United States of America.”
Mr. Trump also expressed that he was “very disappointed with President Putin.”
Responding to Trump’s remarks, the Kremlin insisted that there was no conspiracy in Beijing.
“Nobody is plotting anything, nobody is planning anything,” foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov said in an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin. “Nobody even has such thoughts.”
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov later stressed that the participating countries were acting “in the common interests of our peoples, not against any third countries,” adding that “nobody has the time or desire” to plot anything.
