There are those who, to say the least, have dishonored and humiliated us as a species. These are creatures that have no compassion for others who are more vulnerable, such as companion animals. And it is their indifference, cruelty and neglect that can cost them dearly. They have no voice, they cannot defend themselves.
The case of Mateus, the dog that was left to hang by his family through the back door of his home for a whole month was shocking.
But, not only did he have to be in such a humiliating and extreme situation, but all the while , he barely tasted a bite or water, leaving him severely malnourished , about to starve.
“This poor dog was discovered by us in the back of the house of a wealthy family. His name is Matthew. When we found him, he was hanging out at the back doors of these powerful people,” Paw Rescue reported.
Likewise, neighbors in the area have confirmed how long the animal has been in that state. They also say that none of them bother to help him out of fear of retaliation by the rich, but such an inhuman family.
“Neighbors said the dog had been hanging there for over a month, during which time no one saw it being fed. Although they loved Mateus, they did not dare to save him for fear of a fight with the family,” the organization added.
By a miracle of Providence, Mateus managed to survive his torture all that interminable month. His case became public and a group of animal rights activists managed to intervene just in time to prevent the canine from suffering further damage.
The furry was taken from there and transferred to a veterinary clinic in an emergency to examine his state of health in depth and receive the corresponding care and medical treatment.
Fortunately, beyond the malnutrition it suffered and the undignified and brutal treatment it received, the little animal did not present any other serious affectation. Thanks to the good offices of the rescuers and veterinary team, he had no trouble recovering. He now enjoys a new family, which does give him all the attention and respect that every animal deserves .
“We are proud to have been able to help this innocent being find a new opportunity for a better life. Today he is very happy with his new adoptive family ”, they added from the pro-animalist organization.
We won’t tire of repeating it: Having a pet is just as demanding as having a child. It is found that not everyone is qualified for this task. There are still many people out there who continue to bring their pets into the house, only to make them live in humiliation and precariousness later.
