The red carpet was alive with A-list celebrities at the opening of Good Night, and Good Luck on Broadway, held on April 3, 2025, at New York City’s Winter Garden Theatre. The George Clooney-led stage production, based on the 2005 film, tells the true story of Edward R. Murrow’s exposé on Senator Joseph McCarthy. Clooney, who makes his Broadway debut in the role of Murrow, also co-wrote the adaptation with Grant Heslov.
Among the famous attendees were Jennifer Lopez, Uma Thurman, and Clooney’s longtime friend Richard Kind. The event also attracted a number of top broadcast journalists like Gayle King, George Stephanopoulos, and Jake Tapper, alongside other celebrities including Kylie Minogue, Jim Parsons, and Hugh Jackman. Clooney was reunited with former ER co-stars Julianna Margulies and Anthony Edwards, making the night even more special.
The celebration continued after the performance at an exclusive black-tie afterparty at the New York Public Library. Directed by David Cromer, the production features a talented cast, including Mac Brandt, Will Dagger, Ilana Glazer, and Paul Gross, among others.
In addition to the star-studded audience, the opening marked Clooney’s first Broadway bow, a milestone that the actor and director shared with his fans, friends, and fellow artists at this memorable event.
