he term ‘fur baby’ is used by some dog owners every day, but to others it’s a word that makes the skin crawl. More and more dog owners are treating their dogs as if they were children. It certainly means these dogs are given they very best, taken everywhere and showered with love – but does all this ‘humanising’ stop a dog from really being a dog? Do the words we use to refer to our dogs really matter?
