After much speculation, 50 Cent’s documentary focusing on Sean ‘P. Diddy’ Combs’ alleged indiscretions is finally moving forward, now officially in production under Netflix. Alexandria Stapleton has been tapped to direct the project, which 50 Cent began teasing as Diddy faced mounting allegations. Upon learning of Netflix’s acquisition, 50 Cent took to Instagram, stating, “I been telling y’all about all this weird s—, I don’t do NO puffy party’s. you didn’t believe me but I bet you believe me now!” He followed up with a humorous comment about the large Netflix audience, saying, “Only 250 million people watching Netflix this is a pretty good deal who’s idea was this LOL.”

Rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs apologized on May 19, 2024 after surveillance video surfaced showing him physically assaulting his then-girlfriend Casandra Ventura in 2016. Combs is the target of several civil lawsuits that characterize him as a violent sexual predator who used alcohol and drugs to subdue his victims, and his homes were raided this year by federal agents. Stapleton emphasized the documentary’s depth, stating, “This is a story with significant human impact. It is a complex narrative spanning decades, not just the headlines or clips seen so far.” She noted the importance of giving a voice to the voiceless while also highlighting that Diddy’s story shouldn’t overshadow the broader contributions of hip-hop culture.

As the documentary takes shape through 50 Cent’s G-Unit Film & Television company, it coincides with serious legal challenges facing Diddy. He is embroiled in numerous allegations, including claims of sexual assault and violence stemming from multiple lawsuits, including one from his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura. Recent raids on his Los Angeles and Miami properties by Homeland Security reportedly uncovered concerning items like 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricant, as Diddy is linked to an ongoing sex trafficking investigation that involves allegations of hosting “freak off” parties with nonconsensual interactions and drug use.

Diddy remains incarcerated at a Brooklyn detention center as he awaits trial, having been denied bail due to concerns of him being a flight risk. His legal team had proposed a plan to allow for his release on bond, which included surrendering his passport, but the judge denied the request. Diddy has consistently denied all allegations against him, stating he is innocent of the charges.
