The jail where Sean “Diddy” Combs is being held is currently under investigation.

Investigators from various federal agencies including the Bureau of Prisons launched an “interagency operation” on Monday at the federal jail in New York City where Sean “Diddy” Combs is being held. This comes as the prison’s conditions have previously been under fire and have been described as “hell.”

The investigators from the Bureau of Prisons, the Justice Department’s inspector general’s office and other law enforcement agencies launched their investigations on the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn on Monday, the Bureau of Prisons said in statement to The Associated Press.

The law enforcement operation is “designed to achieve our shared goal of maintaining a safe environment for both our employees and the incarcerated individuals housed at MDC Brooklyn,” the agency said. Prison officials declined to provide specific details about the operation Monday morning.

Federal prison consultant Sam Mangel has previously opened up to The Mirror about the jail where three of his clients are currently serving time. Diddy is currently residing in the Special Housing Unit (SHU), which Sam describes as “the most restrictive part of the whole facility.”

“So typically in the SHU, an individual is permitted out three times a week for one hour a day,” he said. “The cell is about six feet by nine feet. It contains two metal bunk beds. Youre given a one piece mattress, so the mattress and pillow are all one.”

“Youre given a blanket, one uniform, and while in the SHU youre given a finite or limited amount of commissary,” he continued. “And then theres a steel toilet/sink and maybe a small writing desk. Thats it.”

The toilet only flushes three times a day, something intentionally rigged by the prison.

“Occasionally [prisoners] flood their toilets, which is why they limit the amount of times you can flush the toilet,” Sam said. “You can hit it as often as you want it only flushes three times,” he continued, “Ive been at other facilities where it only flushes once an hour. They do that to stop flooding so a person cant flood their cell and subsequently the whole facility.”

Sam revealed Diddy doesn’t have any cellmates due to his high-profile status.
