A major shock has shaken the American conservative community. Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA and a prominent face of the MAGA movement, was assassinated live on stage during an outdoor event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
According to the Oren Police Department, the gunman fired a single shot, striking Kirk while he was conducting a Q&A session as part of his “American Comeback Tour.” The shooting left the crowd in disbelief and panic.
The FBI confirmed that the suspect – believed to be the assassin – fled the scene immediately, sparking a massive manhunt. By the end of the day, FBI Director Kash Patel announced that the suspect had been taken into custody.
Patel wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
“The subject responsible for today’s horrific shooting that took the life of Charlie Kirk is now in custody. Thank you to the local and state authorities in Utah for your partnership with the FBI.”
The incident has sent shockwaves across the United States, especially within conservative circles. At just 31 years old, Charlie Kirk was known as one of the strongest supporters of former President Donald Trump and one of the most influential voices among right-wing youth.
His death not only leaves a significant void in the conservative movement but also raises renewed concerns about security at political public events in the U.S.
