Usher once admitted that he would not let his children stay with Sean “P Diddy” Combs.
An interview of Usher resurfaced after Diddy was arrested and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution last month. The hip hop mogul has denied all allegations, pleaded not guilty and is currently awaiting for his trial on May 5, 2025 in Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center.
Diddy took Usher under his wing when the singer was young. A 14-year-old Usher was sent to live with Diddy for a year in 1994 by his manager L.A Reid for what was referred to as “Puffy Flavor Camp.”
In 2016, Usher spoke about his experience with Diddy in a 2016 chat on The Howard Stern show. He said: “It was pretty wild. It was crazy. There were very curious things taking place and I didn’t necessarily understand it.” He was then asked if he would ever let his children go to Puffy Flavor Camp, which Usher quickly replied: “Hell no!”

The Confessions singer shares sons Usher ‘Cinco’ Raymond V, 16, and Naviyd Ely, 15, with ex-wife, Tameka Foster, as well as daughter Sovereign Bo, three, and son Sire Castrello, two, with wife Jennifer Goicoechea.
Usher also admitted to witnessing “very curious things” when living with Diddy. Howard was transparent and asked Usher if Diddy’s “place was filled with chicks and orgying nonstop.”
Usher responded: “Not really… I got a chance to see some things … I don’t know if I could indulge and even understand what I was looking at,” He added: “It was pretty wild. It was crazy. There were very curious things taking place and I didn’t necessarily understand it.”
The interview came 12 years after Usher’s 2004 Rolling Stone interview, in which he described how Diddy had exposed him to “a totally different set of s— – sex, specifically.” Usher said in the interview: “Man, sex in the industry is so hot. There were girls everywhere you looked. When you opened a door, you would see someone doing it or multiple individuals enjoying an orgy in a room. You could never predict what will occur.”
